Pacer Avesh Khan’s clearance by the BCCI to play in the 2025 Indian Premier League is a benefit for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

The BCCI’s approval for pacer Avesh Khan to play in the 2025 Indian Premier League is a boon for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). ESPNcricinfo said on Tuesday that Avesh, who had been caring for a right knee problem, was cleared by the BCCI’s medical panel this week and will soon be joining the LSG team. Since late January, Avesh has not played for India; his most recent outing was in a Twenty20 International in South Africa in November of previous year. In addition, he was unable to play Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy final league match because of right knee pain that was related to his domestic workload.

He reportedly finished one of his last fitness tests on Monday while undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

He is anticipated to be available for LSG’s upcoming game, an away match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), on March 27, though the precise date of his arrival in the camp is yet unknown. After losing to the Delhi Capitals (DC) in their season opener on Monday in Visakhapatnam, LSG will be hoping to recover. LSG has been struggling with a number of injuries to their important Indian pacers. After previously recuperating from a spinal stress injury, Mayank Yadav has now also suffered a toe injury. After suffering a back injury during India’s Test tour of Australia, Bengal speedster Akash Deep is currently recovering from the injury. Mohsin Khan, a left-arm bowler, has also been disqualified from the 2025 Indian Premier League due to his inability to recuperate from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) damage sustained in December of last year. Shardul Thakur has taken his place in the team.

Due to several injuries, LSG’s bowling reserve was lacking, as assistant coach Lance Klusener said during the defeat to the Delhi Capitals.LSG’s main Indian pacers have suffered from a number of injuries. Lance Klusener, the assistant coach for LSG, spoke about their lack of bowling reserve after the defeat to the Delhi Capitals because of numerous injuries.
