Pakistan Cricket Board should severely enforce two-NOCs regulation after flop show in T20 World Cup 2024

Saim Ayub and Azam Khan, two young players on the T20 World Cup 2024 roster, have been retained by their respective teams, although the board has not yet granted them permission to participate in the Caribbean Premier League.

PCB will severely enforce its two-NOCs regulation for T20 leagues following the national team’s humiliating performance and first-round ouster from the T20 World Cup in the United States of America.Pakistan’s elimination was confirmed on Friday, when the USA joined archrival India as the second team from Group A in the Super Eight stage, following a washout in Lauderhill, Florida.

All players who sign central and domestic contracts in Pakistan cricket are subject to a condition that specifies that a player can only be issued a NOC for two abroad competitions in addition to the Pakistan Super League in a given year.

“Mir took the argument that since he was free of any international commitments and there was no domestic event he should be allowed to play in England, he was told in clear terms this is not for him but for the board to decide,” claimed a source.

The board has also lately made it clear to all other cricket boards and franchises organizing T20 tournaments that unless a player(s) can provide a PCB-issued NOC, they will be signing him at their own risk.
