Pakistan is all set to refuse to play at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad in the ODI World Cup, which is going to take place in India later this year.

Pakistan is ready to refuse to play their matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the ODI World Cup, which is going to be held later this year in India. As the Pakistan Cricket Board is losing its hosting rights for the Asia Cup 2023, the Pakistan cricket team, led by Babar Azam, is quite doubtful about their participation in the tournament. The proposal of a hybrid model by Pakistan was rejected by the ACC, and the Asia Cup tournament in 2023 is also going to be shifted to Sri Lanka.
PCB faced a big blow when both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh decided to support the BCCI in moving the venue of the Asia Cup away from Pakistan. Chief of ACC and Secretary of BCCI Jay Shah had made this very clear a very long time ago that team India would not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup tournament. Sri Lanka has the option to host the tournament.
The Pakistan Cricket Board had previously threatened the BCCI with pulling out of the World Cup if they did not send Team India to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. While BCCI cited the Indian government’s refusal to clear their travel, no such problem should arise for Pakistan. However, Pakistan is now unwilling to play games at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The finals of the ODI World Cup 2023, along with the India vs. Pakistan match, are expected to be held at the biggest cricket stadium in the world, i.e., the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
According to a source, “Pakistan may not agree to play against India at Narendra Modi Stadium due to certain reasons.” And because of some security reasons, they will play most of their games in Bengaluru and Chennai.
