The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed to the International Cricket Council that the Pakistan Cricket Team will travel to India for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. This development has come at a crucial time when Pakistan and the Indian Board are tussling over the Asia Cup 2023 hosting issue. Pakistan’s local media confirmed this decision by the PCB as ‘100% true’.
At the BCCI’s Special General Meeting, which is going to be held on May 27, the fate of the crucial India vs Pakistan encounter in the World Cup 2023 and Asia Cup 2023 is expected to be the primary discussion point. The conference will take place in Ahmedabad on May 27, the day before the big finals of the IPL 2023.
According to the reports, the ODI World Cup is expected to begin on October 5 and end on November 19. For the main event, the BCCI had chosen 12 locations, with Ahmedabad serving as host to both the tournament’s opener and finale.
Najam Sethi, the chairman of the PCB, is hesitant to hold the match in Ahmedabad, though. Pakistan has also said that they will only participate in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium and not in any other clashes, but due to its over 1 lakh capacity attendance, the BCCI is interested in holding the IND vs. PAK match in Ahmedabad.
