Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated since India decided not to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025.

India’s decision not to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 has exacerbated relations between the two countries. Due to political difficulties, the two sides haven’t played a bilateral series in almost a decade, and while Pakistan did travel to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup, the Indian government did not follow suit. Earlier, India presented a ‘hybrid’ plan in which the national team would play all of its matches in Dubai, but Pakistan ultimately rejected it.India’s move could have significant effects because Pakistan is willing to stop competing against India in any international tournament, according to Geo News. India has officially expressed its desire to host the 2036 Olympics, but according to the source, Pakistan would be campaigning against the idea.

The Pakistan Cricket Board will ask the ICC for clarification over the Champions Trophy hosting, since they have only been informed that India will not be attending the competition; they have not received any information regarding the hybrid model that is being suggested.

Following notification of the decision to the world governing body, the ICC informed the PCB that the BCCI would not be sending a team to Pakistan.A trustworthy PCB source stated, “At this time, there is no discussion about having the Champions Trophy on a Hybrid Model system.”

India’s matches at the Asia Cup last year were played in Sri Lanka, while other matches were played in Pakistan, using a hybrid concept.

The competition, which is slated for February of next year, is rumored to be able to hold India’s matches in Dubai.

“An email is to be sent to the ICC with the advice of its legal department in which the Board wanted clarifications from the ICC on the Indian decision,” stated a source.”The PCB is currently assessing the entire scenario. The next course of action has not been decided. Indeed, the PCB communicates with the government for advice and directions when needed.
