After the fourth Test at Old Trafford concluded in a draw on Sunday with no action taking place on Day 5 of the penultimate match, Australia has won the Ashes.
In Manchester, the fourth Test between the hosts and Australia ended in a tie on Sunday, shattering England’s aspirations at Old Trafford. Although there wasn’t much opportunity of play due to the weather in Manchester, when it happened, Australia took the lead away from the English squad. Australia was able to ensure that an innings loss becomes less and less possible because to Marnus Labuschagne’s stoic century and Mitch Marsh’s assistance. When Manchester’s weather ruined Australia’s chances in the remaining Test days, they were only down by 61 runs and had all-rounders Cam Green and Marsh still at the crease.
The 4th Test has concluded in a tie since there was no play on Day 5 at Old Trafford due to rain. Because of how the fourth test ended, England was unable to tie the matchup before the fifth test, and Pat Cummins’ Australian team was able to successfully defend the Ashes.
