Australia’s nightmare continues on its India tour. Pat Cummins, the captain, will miss the Indore Test. As a result, Steve Smith will captain Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Cummins’ availability for the Ahmedabad Test is still unknown. Notably, Cummins has confirmed his return for the ODI series. As previously reported, David Warner has already been ruled out of the BGT due to injury; however, he will return for the ODI series.

Smith spent four days in Dubai with his wife Dani following the second Test before rejoining the Australia team on Thursday evening (India time), when he learned that Cummins had decided to skip the upcoming Test.

The training session at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday morning included information for the entire Australia playing group. The Australians have two more days of training in the Indian capital before departing for Indore on Sunday.
