Irfaan Ali, the president of Guyana, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the cricket stars.

During his meeting with notable cricket figures from the West Indies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that cricket represents a special link between India and the Caribbean. On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the Prime Minister landed in Guyana, marking the first time an Indian head of state has visited the nation in almost 50 years.

On Thursday, he and Guyanese President Irfaan Ali met with the cricket celebrities.”Friendship innings! In a post on X, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that PM @narendramodi and President @DrMohamedIrfaa1 of Guyana met with notable cricket figures from the West Indies today in Georgetown.

“Talking of people-to-people ties, PM noted that Cricket binds India with the Caribbean like no other medium!” the post, which included pictures from the gathering.

On the final stop of his three-nation tour, the prime minister is in Guyana.A “productive” journey to Nigeria was part of the visit; it was the first time an Indian prime minister had visited the West African nation in 17 years.

Mr. Modi traveled to Brazil for the G20 Summit from Nigeria.

He met world leaders in Brazil, such as UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and US President Joe Biden.
