Prasidh Krishna played for Rajasthan in the IPL 2022.
Rajasthan Royals have confirmed that their right-arm pacer Prasidh Krishna has been officially ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League due to an injury.
In the most recent Indian Premier League, he played for Rajasthan. He appeared in 17 games for the franchise, taking 19 wickets with an economy rate of 8.29. In the previous edition, his best bowling figures were 3/22.
Prasidh last played for India during their tour of Zimbabwe in August 2022 and has been undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru since then due to a stress fracture.
Prasidh has played 51 games in the IPL and has taken 49 wickets at an economy rate of 8.92. He has only represented India in one-day internationals (ODIs), where he has played 14 games and taken 25 wickets at an average of 23.92, with an impressive economy rate of 5.32.
Many prominent fast bowlers, including India’s spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, have suffered from stress fractures in the past, and it takes a long time to heal completely. Prasidh will be hoping to return to competitive cricket in time for the 50-over World Cup, which begins in India in October, or else he may miss the tournament entirely.
Prasidh made his international debut for India against England in Pune on March 23, 2021, and his last game for the country (so far) was on August 20, 2022, against the Chevrons in Harare.
With Prasidh battling an injury on the sidelines, India has plenty to worry about, especially since Bumrah has yet to play for India after being ruled out of the T20 World Cup in 2022 due to a back injury. In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, India is currently without Bumrah’s services.
