Ashwani Kumar will coach the men’s team, and Munni Joon will be the head coach of the women’s team in addition to Prateek Waikar and Priyanka Ingle’s leadership positions.
Priyanka Ingle will head the women’s team and Prateek Waikar the men’s team as India announced their lineups for the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup, which starts on January 13. From January 13 to 19, the competition will take place in the Indira Gandhi Stadium. On January 14, the Indian women’s squad will play South Korea, and on the first day, the men’s team will play Nepal.
Apart from the leadership positions held by Prateek and Priyanka, Ashwani Kumar will coach the men’s team while Munni Joon will be the head coach of the women’s team.
Major General Vikram Dev Dogra, CEO of the Kho Kho World Cup, and Sudhanshu Mittal, president of the Kho Kho Federation of India, made the announcement.
The men’s and women’s teams will both wear the “Bharat” insignia, designating them as the “Bharat Ki Team,” Mittal also disclosed a unique element to the teams’ uniforms.
Furthermore, Thursday saw the unveiling of the trophy that will be given to the women’s edition winner. The women who demonstrate their abilities will be recognized with the green award, according to Geeta Sudhan, COO of the Kho Kho World Cup.
At Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, 60 boys and girls from all around India participated in a training camp held before to the competition in hopes of earning a berth on the national teams.
