Arjun Maini debuted as the first Indian driver in the DTM in 2021.
In the 2024 DTM season, Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing will have another elite lineup. The performance and sports vehicle brand is depending on two well-known and reputable Performance Teams in Mercedes-AMG Team HRT and Mercedes-AMG Team WINWARD Racing. With the racing cars from Affalterbach, Germany, the four drivers Lucas Auer (Austria), Maro Engel (Germany), Arjun Maini (India), and Luca Stolz (Germany) will be vying for the coveted DTM title. “Defining Motorsport since 1894” is Mercedes-AMG’s motto as they commemorate 130 years of motorsport under the sign of the star, fittingly coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the DTM.
The 26-year-old driver combination of Arjun Maini and Luca Stolz is the foundation of two Mercedes-AMG Performance Teams, four Performance Drivers, and Mercedes-AMG Team HRT. The pair has been a part of the Drees racing team lineup since 2022.
In 2021, Maini debuted as the first driver from India to compete in the DTM. When he placed second at the Norisring that same year, he created history. He displayed a positive form curve in the second part of the 2023 season. Maini received a promotion from Junior Driver to Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver for this year.
Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing continues its successful tradition in the 35th season of Mercedes-Benz in the DTM with the 2024 lineup. Mercedes-AMG is on a title-winning mission, seeking to return the DTM trophy to Affalterbach after 2021.
The ADAC-organised championship calendar will once again contain eight rounds and a total of 16 races in Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands. Mercedes-AMG’s pursuit of the ninth DTM manufacturer’s title begins with the season opening on April 26-28 at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The first clash between all DTM entrants will take place during the official test days at Hockenheim at the beginning of April.
