Lahore Qalandars have won four of their last five games against Peshawar Zalmi and are expected to win again.
On Sunday, Lahore Qalandars will face the inconsistent Peshawar Zalmi in the 15th match of the Pakistan Super League 2023 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium (February 26). The reigning champions thrashed Quetta Gladiators by 63 runs in their last game and are currently third on the points table, having won two of their first three games.
Shai Hope and Sikandar Raza batted well to help the Qalandars score 198/6 while batting first, before captain Shaheen Afridi and Namibian pace all-rounder David Wiese took three wickets each to restrict the Gladiators to 135/8.
In the previous game, Babar Azam scored a captain’s knock of 75*(58) against Islamabad United, but the bowlers struggled to defend 156 runs. Despite the loss, the Zalmi remain in fourth place with four points from four games.
Match Details:
Venue: Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
Date & Time: February 26, 7:30 PM IST
Pitch Report:
In T20 cricket, the pitch at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium provides a balanced surface. With a new ball, the pitch provides little assistance with a swing for the pacers, and the Qalanadars’ in-form pacers will be looking to capitalise. However, because this is the first game at this venue this season, it will be interesting to see how it goes on Sunday evening.
