PV Sindhu, India’s double Olympic medalist in badminton, is about to start a new chapter in her life. On December 22, the 29-year-old will marry Hyderabad-based Venkata Datta Sai, Executive Director of Posidex Technologies, in Udaipur. The celebrations will be enormous yet beautiful, beginning with pre-wedding festivities on December 20.

Sindhu’s family confirmed that the reception will take place in Hyderabad on December 24. The wedding was meticulously planned to facilitate Sindhu’s return to the international badminton circuit in January, since the upcoming season promises to be significant.

“Even though the two families were acquainted, everything was only finalized a month ago. Since her schedule will be busy starting in January, this was the only window that could work,” Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, told PTI. Thus, the two families chose to hold the marriage ceremony on December 22 for that purpose. On December 24, the reception will take place in Hyderabad. Soon after, she will begin training because the upcoming season would be crucial.One of the most well-known athletes in India, Sindhu has an impressive career. She has won five medals in the World Championship, including a historic gold in 2019. Among her Olympic accomplishments are a bronze in Tokyo 2020 and a silver in Rio 2016. She established herself as one of badminton’s top players in 2017 when she achieved her career-highest global ranking of No. 2.Sindhu recently won the Syed Modi International in Lucknow, ending a title drought and demonstrating her return to form and readiness to compete globally.
