India can rely on Ravindra Jadeja to bat in the top four, according to R Ashwin, who believes that his talent is being wasted at number seven.
In the forthcoming 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, recently departed Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has recommended that India bat Ravindra Jadeja at number four, Hardik Pandya at number five, and Axar Patel at number six.
At his typical position of number seven, Ashwin believes Jadeja is underutilized and that the position is “too low” to fully exploit his potential. According to him, India can gain batting depth, two left-handed batting alternatives, and more bowling diversity by starting three all-rounders at numbers four through seven.
“I honestly believe that Jadeja’s batting ability won’t be utilized much in one-day cricket. On his YouTube channel, Ashwin stated, “He’s playing very low.” “He’s not a seven.” He has long been playing in a batting position that moves him up to number five, even in Test cricket. Why not at number four if you transfer him to number five and allow him to play under pressure in some games? I’ve given it some thought.
