On November 24, the chess grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa will kick off the eighth edition of the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, a distinguished running competition. The Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park, which is run and maintained by Adani Sportsline, will be the starting and finishing point of the marathon. Saiyami Kher, an athlete and actor, will accompany Praggnanandhaa at the event. Among the competing events are the 10 km run, 5 km run, half marathon (21.097 km), and full marathon (42.195 km).
The second edition of the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, which is sanctioned by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, will take place on a gorgeous course that passes by famous sites like Gandhi Ashram, Atal Bridge, and Ellis Bridge. The race was first altered in 2023. There were more than 22,000 attendees at the event last year.
The marathon honors India’s armed services as part of the “#Run4OurSoldiers” initiative, and a sizeable amount of the earnings is used to support their welfare. More than 2,500 defense personnel participated in the event last year, demonstrating the close relationship between the military and the athletic community.The Ahmedabad Marathon is particularly noteworthy because it is the only marathon honoring soldiers as part of the #Run4OurSoldiers campaign. Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises, stated that since its launch in 2017, it has swiftly grown to become one of India’s most anticipated marathon races.
