Ravi Ashwin became the fastest Indian bowler in Test history to reach 450 wickets.
Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has lavished praise on star India spinner Ravi Ashwin, claiming that he is the Indian men’s team’s most valuable asset at the moment.
Ashwin was instrumental in India’s thrashing of Australia in the first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, which took place in Nagpur. In Australia’s second innings, he finished with figures of 5/37, leaving the visitors desperate for answers.

The former batter believes Ashwin’s contributions to Indian cricket should be preserved and valued highly, as a combination of brains and immense skills is extremely rare in sport. Ashwin’s ability to combine his fantastic spin skills and deceive the opposition has greatly aided India in many unusual situations.
“Many cricketers claim that these pitches are very bad and that if you bowl here, you will get wickets. Not everyone is awarded a wicket. In a match with four to five spinners, he still takes the most wickets.”
