The latest edition of the Lanka Premier League has received a lot of attention due to the presence of snakes.

The fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League is presently underway, providing exciting cricketing action for all fans. The fans have seen it all in LPL 2023, from searing knocks to exquisite spells. However, there is another reason why the competition has received a lot of attention- the appearance of snakes during the matches. A snake disrupted the play between B-Love Kandy and Jaffna Kings, leaving the supporters and onlookers in complete disbelief.

The viral snake video that scared pacer Isuru Udana during the LPL match prompted India all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin to address the situation. He said that because Sri Lanka is surrounded by forests, it is difficult for the cricket authorities to prevent such incidents from occurring.

“Isuru Udana during a game was included in a recent trending video, which you would have seen. The snake in that game came so close to him. Being an amateur, I have no idea whether the snake was poisonous. On that video, many of them left comments claiming that the snake wasn’t poisonous. Although a snake on a cricket pitch will undoubtedly make a player nervous. What options do cricket officials have in this situation, correct? Ashewin stated on his YouTube channel.

“Because so many structures are being built in areas where wild animals live. Sri Lanka is a country that is encircled by trees. Both the animals and the players will benefit greatly if the authorities can address this, he continued.

A snake was seen slithering into the field during Jaffna’s pursuit in a video that quickly became popular on social media. Isuru Udana, a runner from Kandy, was frightened to see the reptile as it crept forward slowly. The pacer was then spotted making a swift getaway and returning his attention to the game.
