Adding his name to the exclusive group of cricketers in Indian Premier League history with 100 or more catches is Ravindra Jadeja.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had a game-winning performance against Kolkata Knight Riders. With three crucial wickets taken, the all-round player helped the Super Kings secure their third win of the year. Jadeja, however, wasn’t only about the ball; he also excelled in the field, joining the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as the only players in IPL history to have 100 or more catches. Other than Jadeja, only four players have ever accomplished this feat in the history of the game.
Inside the elite group, Jadeja is the lone player behind players like Rohit Sharma (100), Kieron Pollard (103), Suresh Raina (109), and Virat Kohli (110). Some players, including Shikhar Dhawan (98), are expected to make the top list. In the middle of the innings against KKR, Jadeja made a playful comment when the record was brought up.
Jadeja remarked sarcastically, “I don’t count my catches,” upon learning of the historic occasion.
With his incredible bowling performance and his outstanding work in the field on Monday, Jadeja put KKR’s back against the wall during the first innings.

Jadeja was instrumental in keeping KKR to a disappointing 137/9, having completed two catches and captured three wickets.
Jadeja became the fourth player to reach 100 catches in his fielding career with those two catches. Jadeja made a brilliant catch to remove Philip Salt for a golden duck on the opening ball of KKR’s innings.
After KKR captain Shreyas Iyer misplayed his shot in the 20th over, Jadeja made an easy catch at deep mid-wicket.
With an astounding total of 110 catches in 242 matches, Virat Kohli, the batsman for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, tops the table.
With an incredible total of 109 catches in 205 games, former Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina is ranked second. With 103 catches in 189 games, former MI standout all-arounder Kieron Pollard is ranked third.
Rohit made history last week when MI defeated the Delhi Capitals, becoming the fourth player in IPL history to grab 100 catches. The seasoned opener finished Jhye Richardson’s catch, which was his 100th IPL catch in his 247th game of the league.
In the match against KKR, Jadeja led the bowling attack that set up the hosts for a comprehensive seven-wicket victory.
Jadeja was instrumental in keeping KKR to 137/9, taking three wickets for just eighteen runs during his four-over performance.
CSK cruised to a comprehensive 7-wicket victory while chasing 138, with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (67*) turning up the most outstanding performance at bat.
