Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be eager to bounce back as they take on a rejuvenated UP Warriorz in their upcoming WPL 2025 clash. With both teams eyeing crucial points, expect a thrilling battle on the field. Can RCB turn their fortunes around, or will the Warriorz continue their winning momentum.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will aim to bounce back to winning form as it takes on a revitalized UP Warriorz (UPW) in the Women’s Premier League at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday. The defending champion had a disappointing start to its home campaign, suffering a four-wicket defeat to Mumbai Indians in the opening match of the Bengaluru leg. Meanwhile, Deepti Sharma-led UPW will be high on confidence after securing its first victory of the season with a dominant performance against Delhi Capitals on Saturday.
RCB has the upper hand in this rivalry, having won three of its four encounters against the Warriorz in the tournament. Notably, its last two victories came at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which adds to the home team’s advantage. The only time UPW defeated RCB was in the inaugural edition, when the Challengers were crushed by 10 wickets under the leadership of then-Alyssa Healy. Healy completely destroyed the opposition with his commanding 47-ball 96, the second-highest individual score in the WPL. Healy isn’t there to assist the Warriorz this time, though.
The Warriorz have, however, identified a competent injured substitute for the Australia captain in Chinelle Henry. In the team’s victory over the Capitals, the West Indies all-rounder made her WPL debut by taking Marizanne Kapp’s wicket and recording the league’s second-fastest half-century (62 off 23 balls).
