Australian Ben Swayer has been named head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the Women’s Premier League, which begins next month (WPL).

Australian Ben Swayer, who currently coaches the New Zealand women’s team, has been named head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the Women’s Premier League, which begins next month (WPL). Sawyer, 45, is also the current coach of Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred. He has also served as the head coach of the Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), in addition to being Australia’s assistant coach.

“He (Sawyer) has three World Cup victories with Australia. A fast-bowling superstar. He has also won BBL championships with the Sydney Sixers. He’s also made it to the finals of The Hundred “Mike Hesson, RCB’s Director of Cricket Operations, stated in a video posted on the tema’s Twitter handle.

“He has been involved in women’s cricket for over 20 years, knows the game inside and out, and is well-versed in the players. He has also been heavily involved in our preparations for the auction.” Sawyer will be assisted by Maloran Rangarajan (assistant coach and head of scouting), VR Vanitha (scout and fielding coach) and RX Murali (batting coach).
