According to a source in the Hindustan Times, Dravid requested that the board lower his financial award to Rs. 2.5 crore as well, citing his desire to not be paid more than the coaches who oversee fielding, bowling, and batting.

It should be mentioned that Dravid adopted a similar position while leading India’s U-19 World Cup winning squad in 2018. Dravid was supposed to receive INR 50 lakh at the time, while the other support staff members were supposed to receive Rs. 20 lakh apiece.
