Resigning head coach of Team India asked the BCCI to compensate all coaches equally and cut his T20 World Cup 2024 prize by Rs. 2.5 crore.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a pool of Rs. 125 crore for the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup. The “gentleman,” Rahul Dravid, has demonstrated his character once again by choosing to forfeit half of the INR 5 crore reward money that he was to receive. Following their victory over South Africa in the final, the BCCI declared that the players, coaching staff, and support personnel will get a total of Rs. 125 crore in financial rewards. While the other team coaches were to receive Rs. 2.5 crore, head coach Rahul Dravid received a cut of INR 5 crore.
According to a source in the Hindustan Times, Dravid requested that the board lower his financial award to Rs. 2.5 crore as well, citing his desire to not be paid more than the coaches who oversee fielding, bowling, and batting.
“Rahul demanded the same incentive payment of Rs. 2.5 crore as his support staff, which included Vikram Rathore, T Dilip, Paras Mhambrey, and bowling instructor Paras Mhambrey. According to the story, a BCCI source stated, “We appreciate his feelings.

The board then released an updated list of financial awards, in which Dravid and the other support staff members each received INR 25 lakh.

Dravid has received praise for his altruistic approach numerous times. Throughout his playing career, even as a batter, he prioritized the needs of the team. In his role as a coach, Dravid still sticks up for the players he works with.
