Kiran More and Abhishek Nayar, two former cricketers for India, have pleaded with the team’s management to give Rinku a steady run and prepare him for the position of a finisher.
Kiran More, a former Indian wicket-keeper, thinks Rinku Singh has the ability to develop into a great finisher like MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh if given more time and given good training by the Indian team management.
“I’ve been waiting for him to get a chance with the Indian squad. He will perform well in that batting position, between Nos. 5 and 6, and he has the potential to develop into a fantastic finisher. MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh are well known to us all. We don’t have a player like them after that, Kiran More stated in a discussion with Jio Cinema.
More’s assertion that Rinku is most suited to bat at No. 5 or 6 was backed by Abhishek Nayar, who has known Rinku for the previous six years in the Kolkata Knight Riders.
“You need someone down the order who can finish off the job for you, with Hardik Pandya assuming the role of a batsman and playing higher up the order. Axar Patel was available, but Rinku was developed just for the job, according to Nayar.
Dinesh Karthik was the final player India designated as a finisher. Hardik had excelled in that role as well, but he has since developed into a batter who can take charge further up the order.
