Given the team’s established top order, India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara believes it would be “difficult” to play both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik in the Asia Cup T20 competition.
KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav make up the top order. According to Pujara, Yadav is one of India’s top T20 batters right now. There is just room for one player between Pant and Karthik after players like Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja.
The management of the team is dealing with a major dilemma because Pant and Karthik are both doing admirably in the T20 format.
Rishabh Pant is a better option, in my opinion, if you want someone to fill the position of No. 5. However, I believe DK (Karthik) is the better choice if you want a batting lineup with a really good finisher who is likely to play 10 or 20 balls and provide you 40–50 runs.
