Rishabh Pant’s rehabilitation path following a near-fatal injury in 2022 has showed great promise, signaling a bright future for his participation in the forthcoming Indian Premier League season. According to the most recent report, Pant has been actively participating in a warm-up game in Alur, near Bengaluru, indicating promising signs of recovery. This is Pant’s first match in a long time.

According to sources from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and his IPL franchise, the 26-year-old player is expected to head the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2024. However, it is important noting that he will only play as a batter, with another person chosen as the team’s wicketkeeper.

According to reports, Pant’s mobility has not been compromised, with sources verifying his ability to run and bat with the same agility and flexibility as before the December 2022 accident, which shelved him for over 15 months. Pant is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, and the BCCI arranged for him to receive therapy in London last month.

There is a noticeable air of hope around Pant’s possible participation in the IPL, if he gets the go-ahead from the NCA officials. Despite expressing faith in Pant’s leadership, the Delhi Capitals team has decided to give another player the job of keeping wicket. During the previous IPL season, David Warner commanded the squad in Pant’s absence.

The dates of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are yet to be confirmed; it is expected that they will be decided upon when the Election Commission of India releases its list of general election dates. The IPL schedule will be modified in accordance with the dates of the state elections. The BCCI is thinking of starting the IPL on March 22 or 23. The competition is scheduled to end on a Sunday, May 26.

Rishabh Pant’s recovery progress and potential comeback to competitive cricket represent a significant milestone, sparking excitement among fans and stakeholders alike as the IPL 2024 season approaches.
