An early forecast regarding the potential squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 given by the former fast bowler for the Indian cricket team included a significant omission.
Fast bowler S Sreesanth, a former member of the Indian cricket team, made an early forecast regarding the potential squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup that included a significant exclusion. He included nearly every member of the Cricket World Cup 2023 team in his prediction; the only two players left out were opener Shubman Gill and Ravichandran Ashwin. Rather, Sreesanth started Yashasvi Jaiswal, a rookie player, as the team’s explosive first batter. Sreesanth added that although there’s a potential Rohit Sharma won’t participate in the competition, he will lead the team if he does. Hardik Pandya being captain is the alternative.
“One of the biggest questions is whether Rohit Sharma will play. Due of his several IPL victories, he will be captain. Sreesanth told news sources, “Depending on the circumstances and the environment, either Rohit Sharma or Hardik Pandya will be captain.”
KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, and Rishabh Pant were Sreesanth’s other two choices for wicketkeepers. Sourav Ganguly announced that Pant will participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. Pant was injured in a car accident that kept him out of action for over a year.
“Rishabh Pant, should he be healthy, should be the third keeper as he may require some time to return to action. Not just somebody who hangs around, but a match-winner is what we need. We require a player who is prepared to compete and win games. That’s the situation right now. Sreesanth continued, “Depending on his form, he might be the first or second wicketkeeper.
Sreesanth added that he hopes selectors will search the IPL and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for more fresh potential.
Sreesanth’s India squad for T20 World Cup 2024: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj.
