According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski almost had his 70,000 euro ($71,000) watch stolen on Thursday outside the team’s training facility Ciutat Esportiva.
Lewandowski, a 33-year-old Polish international, was on his way to evening practise when someone opened a car’s passenger door and stole the watch as he was shaking hands with onlookers.
Lewandowski received his watch back before taking part in the practise session prior to Sunday’s LaLiga match at Real Sociedad after police swiftly apprehended a suspect.
Lewandowski left Bayern Munich last month for Barcelona for approximately 45 million euros after helping the German team win numerous awards, including eight Bundesliga crowns and the Champions League.
