The report states that “Rapid Care…”

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, was struck in the bicep during the T20 World Cup match against Ireland. India captain Rohit Sharma was hit in the left thumb during the net session, just before the team’s highly anticipated blockbuster match against arch-rival Pakistan. However, the skipper returned to practice after the team’s medical staff provided him with aid. On Sunday, the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium will host the India vs. Pakistan match. After the 37-year-old captain was struck on the thumb during a net practice, the team’s medical personnel responded quickly to provide treatment. When the ball struck Rohit’s thumb, he removed his glove to assess the damage, and the staff doctor quickly arrived to examine the captain of India.

The Indian captain went back to full swing in the nets after the examination.

The uneven and slow outfield of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, the site of India’s opening game against Ireland this season, has made headlines.

Notably, India began their campaign with a victory over Ireland by eight wickets on the same surface. The captain finished the game with a strike rate of 140.54 and 52 runs off 37 balls, however his knock was short-lived as he was forced to leave the crease following the conclusion of the tenth over due to an injury.

Following much discussion about the pitch, the International Cricket Council acknowledged in a statement released on Thursday that the pitches being used at the ICC T20 World Cup at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York have not been as consistent as anticipated. The grounds crew, however, is working hard to find a solution and provide the “best possible surfaces” for the games that are still scheduled.

The stadium uses a drop-in pitch, which is set up outside of the venue prior to the game and placed into the ground for the encounter.

“T20 Inc and the ICC recognise that the pitches used so far at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium have not played as consistently as we would have all wanted,” the International Cricket Council (ICC) stated in a statement.

“The world-class grounds team have been working hard since the conclusion of yesterday’s game to remedy the situation and deliver the best possible surfaces for the remaining matches,” it stated.
