India equalled Afghanistan’s score of 16 in the first super over to extend the game, but the visitors were unable to chase down a target of 12 in the second super over, as Rohit Sharma’s team took the crucial two wickets through Ravi Bishnoi. Earlier, India rallied from 22 for four in the fifth over to 212 for four, thanks to skipper Rohit Sharma’s unbroken 69-ball 121 and Rinku Singh’s 69 off 39 deliveries.
Afghanistan responded with 212, with Gulbadin Naib hitting a 23-ball 55 to lead his team’s astonishing comeback.
Fareed Ahmad Malik was Afghanistan’s most successful bowler, finishing with 3/20 while his teammates were taken on by Rohit and Rinku.
With this stunning victory, India has taken the series 3-0.
