Due to physical concerns, two-time Commonwealth Games champion Saina Nehwal will miss the national badminton selection trials for the forthcoming Asian Games.
The Badminton Association of India (BAI) will hold a trial from May 4 to 7 at Jwala Gutta Academy of Excellence in Telangana to choose the squad for the renowned competition, which will be held from September 23 to October 8 in Hangzhou, China.
“Saina Nehwal will not be competing due to fitness issues.” The men’s duo of Kushal Raj and Prakash Raj have also withdrew from the trials, according to BAI secretary Sanjay Mishra.
