Sandeep Lamichhane, a cricket player from Nepal, has stated that he has been denied his US visa to compete in the T20 World Cup, meaning he will probably be unable to travel to the USA and the Caribbean.

Sandeep Lamichhane, a spinner from Nepal, has stated that he has been refused a US visa and would probably miss the June T20 World Cup. After Nepal qualified for the first time in their history, Lamichhane—who was recently exonerated of all charges related to rape—was expected to be named to the team for the next ICC competition.

After being found guilty of the rape accusations, Lamichhane was suspended from both local and international cricket; however, following the conviction, he was allowed to continue playing for the squad. Lamichhane will be a member of the Cricket Nepal team for the T20 World Cup, according to the head of the organization.

The law has freed him, and we are glad for that. Although the lower courts had given him a jail sentence, the high court today released him. The president of the Nepal Board, Bahdur, stated, “We have also lifted the suspension and have until the 25th to include him in the World Cup squad.”

“In addition to writing to the ICC, I’ll speak with the selection committee. We will include him in the team after obtaining the technical committee’s approval. Let’s hope for the best; I’m doing my best.”

Lamichhane, regretfully, tweeted on Wednesday that he was not granted a visa to attend the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies by the US Embassy in Nepal. The spinner also mentioned a time that he was refused a visa for the CPL.

The @USEmbassyNepal repeated their 2019 action of refusing my visa to attend the T-20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies. Unfortunately. To everyone who has expressed sympathy to Nepal Cricket, I apologize. Lamichhane said, “@USAmbNepal @CricketNep.”

Along with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and the Netherlands, Nepal is in Group D.
Although Nepal has already revealed their lineup for the T20 World Cup, teams still have till May 25 to make roster adjustments.
