Pakistan’s top selector, Wahab Riaz, confirmed Shadab’s injury and stated that he will require at least “two weeks of rehab” before being available. Haris was rested, according to Riaz, because “we want to use our pool of players” in the upcoming series. Pakistan’s chief selector also stated that injured pacer Naseem Shah had recovered. He was not chosen, however, since they did not want to overburden the 20-year-old fast.
