In the first-round IPL 2024 qualifier on Tuesday in Ahmedabad, Kolkata Knight Riders once again proved their toughness by thrashing Sunrisers Hyderabad.
On Tuesday in Ahmedabad, the Kolkata Knight Riders demonstrated their true grit by crushing Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2024. Batting first, SRH had a disastrous day, being swept out for 159 with Mitchell Star grabbing three wickets. Later, skipper Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer struck 58* and 51* runs, respectively, and led KKR to victory in 13.4 overs with eight wickets in hand. With this victory, KKR has advanced to the IPL 2024 Final.
After the stunning win, Team KKR and their co-owner, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, did a celebratory lap inside the Narendra Modi stadium to thank the fans for their support.
During the lap, Shah Rukh Khan provided his followers a visual treat by performing his well-known posture. Suhana and AbRam, SRK’s children, laughed and smiled at each other when they saw this.
“I believe the way every bowler rose to the situation, the way they came in and got wickets, that was critical. All bowlers had the same mindset and approach: to take wickets, which they did. It’s mesmerising to have a diverse bowling lineup. They have been committed to their work principles, and I hope we continue to perform,” he added.
The team captained by Pat Cummins will get another chance to make the final. On Friday, SRH will face the winner of the elimination match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Chennai.
