Shaheen Afridi, a pacer for Pakistan, received backlash on social media after referring to Mohammad Rizwan as the “Don Bradman of T20 cricket.”
The bowler for Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, went a bit too far in congratulating his teammate Mohammad Rizwan for hitting three thousand runs in T20 international cricket. In the second T20I of the series, Pakistan defeated New Zealand, and Rizwan achieved the milestone. By climbing Mount 3k in just 79 innings, the Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman made history as the fastest player in T20 cricket history.
Praying for Rizwan’s success, Shaheen referred to him as the ‘Don Bradman of T20 cricket’. Social media users were quick to criticize the left-arm pacer for his label.
“Happy 3,000 T20I runs! Muhammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s SuperMan and the Bradman of T20 cricket, deserves our applause!” The game has changed because of you, and the doubters have been quieted. Winner, keep on flying! Afridi Shaheen wrote on Twitter, “You’re an inspiration to many.”
