Shivam Dube received a lot of backlash for his poor performance in the USA and Caribbean during the T20 World Cup in 2024. He was even called the weakest player in India’s batting order by commentators on cricket.
But Dube showed his value in the final match against South Africa, when India was struggling at 103-4 after 13.3 overs. Under duress, Dube entered the game and joined Virat Kohli, who was also having trouble finding his groove.
He scored three sixes and a four during his crucial 27 off 16 balls. His fifty-seven-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Virat Kohli was vital to the innings’ stability.
The aggressive batsman, who spoke exclusively to IANS, talked about his experience playing in the USA and the West Indies during the T20 World Cup and how he managed to remain composed in the face of a lot of “heat.”
Along with thanking coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma, he also mentioned how their encouragement kept him going all through.
