In his own unvarnished manner, Yograj Singh has pledged to address the Pakistan cricket team’s persistent shortcomings in ICC competitions.

Yograj Singh, the father of former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has offered his services to address the issues facing the Pakistan squad within a year amid the heated discussions surrounding the decline of Pakistani cricket. Over the years, Yograj, who owns a cricket academy, has coached a number of aspiring players and has made a public commitment to bring the Pakistan cricket team back to life.
The father of Yuvraj Singh is still well-known in cricket and doesn’t mind using expletives. When Yograj witnessed the game’s legends, like Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar, making fun of Pakistan’s current squad, he encouraged them to leave their studios and set up camps to support the side.
“Wasim Akram and other prominent players saying such repulsive things? And he is surrounded by laughter. They ought to feel embarrassed. Shoaib Akhtar, such a prominent player—you’re equating Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma with Pakistan’s players? You are sitting there earning money, aren’t you, Wasim ji? Go back to your country and conduct a camp. I want to see which of you greats can help Pakistan win a World Cup. If not, resign,” Yograj Singh told SportsNext.
Yograj stated that it’s simple to discuss issues in the commentary box but difficult to walk out on the field and make corrections while volunteering his services to address Pakistan cricket’s issues.
“I will improve the team in a year if I travel to Pakistan. Everyone will remember me. It all comes down to passion. Yograj Singh trains for twelve hours every day. You have to dedicate your blood and sweat to your countrymen, your players.
“Talking big while sitting in the commentary box doesn’t make a difference,” he added.
Yograj lashed out at the greats of Pakistan cricket for using ‘harsh words’ at the current set of players, saying such comments would further pull their morale down.”The presence of so many Pakistani players sitting outside discussing the team doesn’t present a positive image. When it comes to their own squad, have you ever witnessed former Indian players using such harsh language? It makes a tremendous difference. If your players hear what you all have to say, they will be under even greater strain at a time when they are lacking confidence and the team’s morale is declining.
