Recently, Shoaib Malik became the second player overall and the first Asian player to reach 13,000 runs in T20 cricket.

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season is currently underway, but former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik—who recently got married for the third time—will not be participating in it, his team Fortune Barishal said on Thursday. Following his “unilateral” divorce from former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, Malik made headlines when he wed Pakistani actor Sana Javed. Malik will miss the remaining BPL games, according to an official statement from Fortune Barishal. Malik had to travel to Dubai for private reasons.

Despite playing in every game that Barishal played in the first Dhaka phase, Malik had a poor performance. For the remaining games, Ahmed Shehzad, a fellow countryman, will take his place.

Nevertheless, he achieved a significant milestone last week when he became the second player overall and the first Asian player to reach 13,000 runs in T20 cricket. He accomplished the accomplishment during Fortune Barishal vs. Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), joining Chris Gayle on an exclusive list.

Malik was the talk of the town when he bowled three no-balls in one over during a match against the Khulna Tigers.

The rumors surrounding Malik’s split from Indian tennis player Sania Mirza were put to rest last week when he revealed that he had gotten married a third time in Karachi to renowned actor Sana Javed.

The cricket player posted a picture of himself and his new bride on social networking platform X along with the caption, “And We created you in pairs.”

Since 2022, there have been persistent rumors that Shoaib, 41, and Sania, 32, had disagreements that caused them to part up, and in the past few years, they have hardly been spotted together.

Malik stopped following the Indian celebrity on Instagram a few days ago.

Sania is the mother of their five-year-old boy, Izaan.

PTI was informed by a family source that Sania started the divorce process.

“A ‘khula’ was involved. Beyond this, I would like to remain silent,” the insider stated. Khula is the term used to describe a Muslim woman’s unilateral authority to divorce her spouse.

In April 2010, Shoaib and Sania, who had previously resided in Dubai, tied the knot in Hyderabad, the Indian player’s birthplace.

The 37-year-old Sania’s social media posts also revealed that she was experiencing stress.
