Shane Watson is a former Australian cricketer who was born on June 17, 1981, in Ipswich, Queensland. He was an all-rounder who played as a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler.

Watson made his debut for the Australian cricket team in 2002 in an ODI against South Africa, and he made his Test debut in 2005 against Pakistan. He quickly established himself as a versatile and valuable player, known for his aggressive batting, reliable bowling, and excellent fielding.

Watson played in four ICC Cricket World Cups for Australia, winning the tournament in 2007 and 2015. He was named Player of the Tournament in the 2012 ICC World Twenty20, where he helped Australia reach the semi-finals with his all-round performances.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Watson played for several teams, including the Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was part of the Rajasthan Royals team that won the inaugural IPL in 2008, and he was named Player of the Tournament.

Watson retired from international cricket in 2016, having played 59 Tests, 190 ODIs, and 58 T20Is for Australia. He scored over 10,000 runs in international cricket and took more than 300 wickets.

Watson is also known for his charity work, including his involvement with the LBW Trust, which provides education to disadvantaged children in cricket-playing nations. He is married to Lee Furlong, and the couple has two children.
