Shreyas Iyer will join the Indian Test squad for the second Test after being cleared by the BCCI medical team.
Shreyas Iyer, India’s batter, has completed his rehab and will be available for the second Test against Australia. According to a BCCI media advisory, Iyer has been cleared by the BCCI’s medical team and will be available for selection when India takes on Australia on February 17.
Iyer’s absence was not felt in the squad during the first Test, as India dominated the Australians throughout. Rohit Sharma scored a magnificent century, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja shone with the ball.
Iyer’s inclusion in the squad could solve India’s middle order problem. Suryakumar Yadav and KS Bharat made their Test debuts in Iyer’s absence. Both players failed to rise to the occasion and deliver with the bat.
