Mandhana became the most expensive player in the WPL after RCB signed her for a whopping INR 3.4 crore.
The Indian vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has been appointed the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s skipper for the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League. Mandhana had a fantastic performance at the first-ever Women’s Premier League auction, which took place on February 13, Monday.
RCB obtained the services of Mandhana by paying a whopping fee of INR 3.4 crore, making her the most expensive player of the competition. Beginning on March 4, 2023, the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League will feature Mandhana as the team’s captain.
The RCB team shared the news with the public on social media, where current captain Faf du Plessis and former team captain Virat Kohli welcomed Mandhana into the captain’s club.

RCB also shared Mandhana’s reaction to the messages from the two batting legends. She stated that she is excited to lead the franchise and that she hopes to lead RCB to victory in the inaugural season.
