Shreyanka Patil has been declared out of the third season of the WPL, which began on February 14, adding to the defending champions’ injury troubles. Patil was nominated to RCB’s season-long roster, but she did not heal from her shin injury in time. Sneh Rana, an all-rounder, has been named Patil’s replacement. Rana has already joined the main squad, having traveled to Vadodara with RCB earlier this week for the team’s preseason training.
Patil played an important role in RCB’s 2024 title-winning campaign, capturing the Purple Cap with 13 wickets in eight games, four of which came in the final against the Delhi Capitals. She joins Asha Sobhana and Sophie Molineux on the injury list, while RCB is also without Kate Cross and Sophie Devine.
Rana, on the other hand, has played 12 WPL games for the Gujarat Giants over the course of two seasons, captaining them twice while Beth Mooney was out. The all-rounder, who went unsold at the auction before to this season, has now found a home with the holders.
