South African openers Tony de Zorzi and Reeza Hendricks retained their cool while chasing a 212-run total. Tony de Zorzi batted slowly and steadily, not only completing his maiden ODI century, but also leading his team to an 8-wicket victory and a 1-1 tie with India.

Zorzi hit an unbeaten 119 runs in 122 balls, with nine FOURS and six SIXES. He was also named match winner. In addition, Reeza Hendricks (52) completed his half-century before being dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in the 28th over.

Following this, Rassie van der Dussen put up a strong partnership and scored 36 runs before being bowled by Rinku Singh in the 42nd over. This is Rinku’s first ODI wicket.

Only Arshdeep and Rinku picked up a single wicket for India.

Previously, India could only score 211 runs after losing all of its wickets in 46.2 overs.

Half-centuries by India opener Sai Sudharsan and Indian skipper KL Rahul enabled the side finish with a respectable 211-run total. Nandre Burger of South Africa took three key wickets to upset India’s innings.

India lost two more wickets in quick succession, with bowler Lizaad Williams dismissing in-form batsman Sai Saudharsan and Beuran Hendricks dismissing Sanju Samson to give his team another victory. Debutant Rinku Singh is presently at the crease, while KL Rahul is approaching his half-century.

Nandre Burger maintained his pace dominance by taking his second wicket of the day and dismissing Tilak Varma. Team India captain KL Rahul is on the crease presently and will seek to form a long partnership with the attractive Sai Sudharsan.

South African pacer Nandre Burger gave his team a solid start by dismissing India’s opener Ruturaj Gaikwad on the first delivery of the match. Currently, Sai Sudharsan and Tilak Varma are playing conservatively to help the Indian innings.

South Africa captain Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bat first in the second ODI. Team India captain KL Rahul is also interested in batting first, but he wants to take advantage of the cloudy weather. Rinku Singh makes his ODI debut today, replacing Shreyas Iyer in the starting XI. India will play South Africa in the second ODI of the three-match series on December 19 at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The Men in Blue defeated the Proteas by 8 wickets in the inaugural One-Day International (ODI) on December 17 at the Wanderers Stadium. KL Rahul leads the Indian team, while Aiden Markram leads the Australian team.
