Experienced bowler Dushmantha Chameera will not play in the forthcoming series against India, which is a huge blow for Sri Lanka.
Notably, a highly anticipated white-ball leg that begins later this month will pit Sri Lanka against India in three Twenty20 Internationals and as many One-Day Internationals. Ahead of the Twenty20 International series, the Lankan Lions have experienced a severe blow as Chameera has been ruled out of the entire tour.
Chameera is an exceptionally gifted cricketer, but his career has often been ruined by repeated physical setbacks.
Following his 2015 debut, the 32-year-old has taken 143 wickets in 12 Tests, 52 ODIs, and 55 T20Is.
As he is out, Asitha Fernando or Pramod Madushan could be selected to replace him in the T20I team.
