Kasun Rajitha played an important role in the first Test, took eight wickets in two innings, notably 5-56 in the second.
Kasun Rajitha, an in-form speed bowler, will miss the second Test against Bangladesh due to a back issue, Sri Lanka Cricket announced. The second and final Test begins in Chittagong on Saturday, with tourists Sri Lanka leading 1-0 following their 328-run victory in the first match in Sylhet. Rajitha played a significant role, taking eight wickets in two innings, including 5-56 in the second. Asitha Fernando has joined the team as a replacement.
“Kasun Rajitha will not be available for the second Test match as the player has suffered an injury to his left upper back area,” stated Sri Lanka Cricket.
Fernando’s most recent Test match in Bangladesh took place in 2022, during which he claimed 10 wickets.
February was his most recent Test match against Afghanistan.
His hamstring injury kept him out of the Bangladesh series at first, but he made enough of a recovery to be added back to the team for the second Test.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have never lost a Test series.
