Wanindu Hasaranga, an all-rounder, will captain an experienced Sri Lanka team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Hasaranga will represent the side in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. He was selected the captain of Sri Lanka’s Twenty20 international team in December of last year. Charith Asalanka, a middle-order batter, has been designated as his replacement.
After almost three years away, veteran Angelo Mathews returned to the T20I setup in January of this year. Sri Lanka has relied on his experience. Mathews, who participated in Sri Lanka’s 2014 campaign that ended in victory, will be making his sixth appearance at the T20 World Cup.
