Hardik Pandya has made headlines since taking over as captain of the Mumbai Indians from Rohit Sharma.

The Mumbai Police have arrested Vaibhav Pandya, the stepbrother of Indian cricketers Hardik and Krunal Pandya, for allegedly defrauding them of Rs 4.3 crore. According to reports, Vaibhav allegedly siphoned roughly Rs 4.3 crore from the joint firm, leading Hardik Pandya and his brother Krunal to suffer financial losses. Hardik, Krunal, and Vaibhav established a firm in 2021, and according to the agreement, the two players will share 40% of the revenues, while Vaibhav will receive 20%.

Instead of sharing the profits, the lesser-known Pandya established a new company and siphoned funds from the firm into it.

Vaibhav was accused with cheating and forgery by authorities from Mumbai police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

It should also be emphasized that the arrest occurred after Hardik filed a complaint against the 37-year-old.

Meanwhile, Hardik has been making headlines since taking over as Mumbai Indians captain from Rohit Sharma.

MI’s decision to dismiss Rohit as captain has not been well received by fans.

As a result, Hardik has received some negative feedback from fans.

Hardik’s captaincy tenure began on the worst possible note, with MI losing their first three matches.

However, much to Hardik’s relief, the franchise won their most recent game against the Delhi Capitals.

As doubts began to creep into the thoughts of players and spectators following a series of defeats, Hardik stated that many minds needed to be ‘cleansed’ before the encounter against Delhi. MI earned two points in the league rankings for the first time this season.

Hardik had no qualms revealing in the post-match presentation ceremony that a lot of hard work had to be done behind closed doors in the changing room to deliver MI their first win of the season.
“It was a lot of hard work,” Hardik admitted after the game. “We cleared a lot of minds, made sure our plans were perfect, the intent was right, and today was one of those days when everything just clicked. There has been a lot of love and care exchanged. Everyone knows we lost three games, but the belief and attitude of mutual support was strong, which was amazing. We only needed one win, and today was only the beginning.”
