On Friday, May 24, SRH defeated RR by 36 runs in the Indian Premier League 2024 Qualifier 2, securing their spot in the tournament’s final. Following the game, the cameras captured the raw feelings of both sides, and the IPL prepared a special movie from it.

The footage showed RR batter Riyan Parag depressed along with the entire camp, while the SRH camp jubilantly celebrated their victory with the entire team beaming with glee. The 41-second footage also showed both leaders Pat Cummins and Sanju Samson expressing two very different human feelings, with Cummins hugging his teammates and Samson walking back to the dressing room.

Returning to the SRH vs RR match, after being put in to bat first, SRH lost their dangerous opening batsman Abhishek Sharma (12 off 5) in the first over to Trent Boult. Despite the early defeat, Rahul Tripathi went all out attacking and scored a fast 37 (15). Travis Head (34 off 28) batted uncharacteristically and failed to convert his start, leaving his team at 99/4 after ten overs.
The Pat Cummins-led team was left reeling at 120/6 after 14 overs, with RR bowlers all over them. Heinrich Klaasen’s half-century (50 off 34) helped his team to 175/9 in their allotted 20 overs.Avesh Khan (3/27) and Trent Boult (3/45) were RR’s standout bowlers, each taking three wickets, while Sandeep Sharma (2/25) added two.In response, RR got off to a strong start, with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (42 off 21) looking in top form. However, his dismissal against Shahbaz Ahmed in the eighth over triggered a stunning collapse in which his team lost four wickets in 14 runs.Dhruv Jurel came in at number five and attempted to keep his team in the game with a heroic knock of 56* off 35.
However, he received no support from the other end, as RR could only manage 139/7 in their 20 overs and lost by 36 runs.Shahbaz Ahmed was named Player of the Match after taking 3/23 in four overs, while Abhishek Sharma contributed two wickets and 24 runs from four overs. As a result, SRH advanced to the final and will face KKR on Sunday, May 26 at the same stadium.
