Against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma struck 121 off 69 balls in the third and final Twenty20 International.

India skipper Rohit Sharma shined with a century in the third and final game against Afghanistan on Wednesday, raising doubts about his future in Twenty20 international cricket. After hitting back-to-back ducks in the opening two Twenty20 Internationals, Rohit blasted 121 off 69 balls to help India reach 212/4. Prior to Rohit and Rinku Singh’s undefeated 190-run partnership putting the hosts ahead, India were 21/4. Rohit saved India’s bacon once more, hitting two sixes to send the match into a second Super Over after Afghanistan tied the score to force a tie-breaker.The Indian captain made 11 runs in the first three balls of the second Super Over before he and Rinku were removed. Afghanistan lost consecutive wickets with 12 to win and lost the series 0-3.

Following India’s series victory, Rohit posted some images from the match to Instagram with the message, “Loved it.”

Suresh Raina, the former all-rounder for India, commented on his article in response to his performance.

“GOAT for a reason, skipper. Nicely done,” Raina commented.

Rohit revealed that he has a few players in mind who he believes will play in the T20 World Cup, which is set to take place later this year.
“Although the final T20 World Cup squad is still pending, you undoubtedly already know which eight to ten players will compete. Following that, you choose the combination after assessing the destination’s conditions. We have to choose the team based on the slow conditions in the West Indies. To reiterate, Rahul bhai and I have made an effort to keep things clear throughout the team.I’ve learned one thing from being a captain: you can’t satisfy everyone. The requirements of the team must come first, Rohit stated.
