Surya Kumar Yadav is an Indian cricketer who was born on September 14, 1990, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is a right-handed batsman and an occasional right-arm medium-fast bowler. Yadav made his domestic cricket debut in 2010-11 for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy.
In 2012, Yadav was signed by the Mumbai Indians franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He played for the team for several seasons, including the 2015 season when he played a crucial role in helping Mumbai Indians win the IPL title.
Yadav’s consistent performances in domestic cricket earned him a call-up to the Indian T20I team in 2011, although he did not make his debut until 2020. He made his international debut in November 2020 against Australia, where he played a match-winning knock of 57 not out in the second T20I.
In January 2021, Yadav was selected to play in the Indian team for their tour of Australia. He played in the T20I and ODI series and impressed with his performances, scoring a total of 139 runs in 4 innings.
Yadav has also been a consistent performer in the IPL, scoring over 2000 runs in 98 matches with an average of 30.98 and a strike rate of 133.90 (as of September 2021). He was also named in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2021.
