Suryakumar Yadav maintained his position atop the ICC Men’s T20I Batter Rankings, which were revealed on Wednesday, despite experiencing a slump in the present Indian Premier League.

Suryakumar Yadav maintained his position atop the ICC Men’s T20I Batter Rankings published on Wednesday, despite experiencing a tough period in the present Indian Premier League. Suryakumar is in first place on the rating list with 906 points, followed by the Pakistani combination of Mohammed Rizwan (811 points) and captain Babar Azam (755), South African Aiden Markram (748) and New Zealander Devon Conway (745). At position 15, Virat Kohli stayed still.

Suryakumar is not enjoying the finest IPL season, with scores of 15, 1 and 0 in Mumbai Indians’ first three games.

Babar, who has moved up to third, will have another chance to close the gap on Suryakumar when Pakistan kicks off their five-match T20I series against New Zealand on Saturday.

A number of New Zealand and Sri Lankan players who played in the recently concluded T20I series were rewarded for their efforts, with youthful spinner Maheesh Theekshana standing out the most, as the 22-year-old soared to a career-high rating and joint fifth position in the bowlers rankings.

Afghan spinner Rashid Khan leads the T20 bowlers list, followed by compatriot Fazalhaq Farooqi, Australian Josh Hazlewood, and Sri Lankan Wanindu Hasaranga.

There are no Indians among the top ten bowlers in the world.

Following Bangladesh’s victory against Ireland at Mirpur, there was also some movement in the Test rankings. After scores of 126 and 51 not out, seasoned right-handed hitter Mushfiqur Rahim moved up five places to 17th on the Test batters’ table, while the spin combo of Taijul Islam and Shakib Al Hasan were rewarded in the bowlers’ list.

Taijul got a vital five-wicket haul in the first innings and moved up three places to 20th, while Bangladesh skipper Shakib climbed two spots to joint 26th after taking 2/26 in the second innings.
