As we all know, preparations are important before a big final, and therefore Rohit Sharma and his team are expected to play a match against County XI before the very important match of the WTC 2023 finals between India and Australia Cricket Team. The BCCI is currently in conversation with the England Cricket Board to arrange one practice game. The main motive of this match is to get some much-needed red ball practice so that the Indian cricket team can get acclimatised to the pitch and ground conditions.
A senior BCCI official told InsideSport that “we are in talks with the ECB if we can play a practice game. The idea is to have some red-ball practice before the final. We will know in a few days if the plan works out. It will help us match simulations and acclimatise to the conditions.”
Although this decision is yet to be made official, the ECB has yet to agree to the request made by BCCI.
